Summer camps give kids a chance to polish their existing skills or add new skills in their kitty. Skills like public speaking, designing or theatre all will come in handy as they proceed in life. These are not some of the skills that are acquired through heredity but require the investment of time and hard work in order to attain mastery. Summer camps give us those opportunities to develop new skills and take an edge over others.
Innovation camps are one good example of exploring new technologies and opportunities to gain skills which students can use for academics as well as work, later in life. Camps help children build self-confidence and self-esteem by removing the kind of academic, athletic and social competition that shapes their lives at school. They are known for creating an environment which is best suited for young kids. Activities such as doing your own tasks, sleeping in camps, helping take care of younger members of the camp, etc. are a part of daily routine. The focus is on recreational activities rather than direct jumping on academic enhancement activities which cause stress and pressure.
